# Create an account

> Sign up with email, Google, Apple or Facebook, pick your first topics and take the short tour.

## Sign up

Open the app (or [app.hushread.com](https://app.hushread.com)) and choose **Sign up**. You can create an account with:

- **Email:** your full name, email address and a password of at least 6 characters, then **Create account**.
- **Continue with Google**, on every platform.
- **Continue with Apple**, on iPhone and iPad.
- **Continue with Facebook.**

If you sign in with Google, Apple or Facebook using an email address that already has a Hushread account, the two are linked, so you keep your sources.

## Pick your first topics

New accounts start at **What are you into?**. Pick up to 5 topics, such as News - Global, Tech & AI, Science & Space, Business & Finance or Sports, then tap **Build my feed**. Hushread follows a few good sources for each one, up to 5 sources in total, the free plan's limit.

## The tour

After setup, a short tour points out the menu, quick summaries, layouts, search and Trending. Tap **Start tour**, or **Skip**.

On iPhone and Android, Hushread then asks whether you want notifications (**Stay in the loop**). You can change this later; see [Notifications](/docs/notifications).
