# Email story alerts

> Get one email when a major story breaks across many outlets, and control how often they arrive.

Hushread Docs, Notifications. Canonical: https://hushread.com/docs/email-story-alerts

Email story alerts don't need the app or an account. Sign up at [hushread.com/stories](/stories) in the **Know when a story breaks** box.

## What you get

One email when a major story breaks: one that many outlets converge on in a short time and that matters beyond one country. Each email links every source. Most days there are none, and there are never more than 3 in a day.

## Change or stop them

Every email has a link to your preferences, where you can choose:

- **Every breaking story**
- **At most one a day**
- **At most one a week**

or switch alerts off. Unsubscribing takes one click.
