# Import OPML

> Move your feeds from Inoreader, Feedly or any other reader with an OPML file, and what happens on the free plan.

Hushread Docs, Sources. Canonical: https://hushread.com/docs/import-opml

OPML is the file every feed reader uses to export subscriptions. Export one from your old reader (look for *Export OPML* in its settings), then bring it into Hushread.

## Import

1. Open **Add source** and tap **Import OPML instead**.
2. Choose the `.opml` (or `.xml`) file.
3. Hushread shows **Import complete** with how many feeds it imported, skipped and filed into folders.

Importing from **Add source** keeps your folders: folders in the file are created, or matched to folders you already have. Hushread folders are one level deep, so nested folders are flattened into the nearest folder. Importing from **Discover › Import OPML** adds the feeds without folders.

Feeds you already follow are skipped.

## On the free plan

The free plan has room for 5 sources. An import fills only the free slots you have left and skips the rest, and the result offers **Upgrade to Pro**. With Pro, every feed in the file is imported.

## Problems

- **No feeds found:** the file didn't contain any feed URLs. Check it with the free [OPML viewer and validator](/tools/opml-viewer), which also finds broken XML and duplicates.
- **Import failed:** usually a damaged file. Export it again from your old reader.

Hushread doesn't export OPML yet.
