# Listen to articles

> Have any article read aloud in a natural voice, choose the voice, and keep listening in the background.

Open an article and tap the **headphones** button. Audio starts within moments and keeps building while it plays.

## While it plays

- A mini player stays at the bottom of the screen, with play/pause and close, while you keep browsing.
- On iPhone and Android, audio keeps playing when you lock the screen or switch apps, with controls on the lock screen.

## Choose a voice

Open **Settings › Narration voice** and tap a voice to preview it:

| --- | --- |
| Puck | Upbeat and warm (the default) |
| Charon | Deep and informative |
| Schedar | Even and steady |
| Kore | Firm and clear |
| Zephyr | Bright and friendly |
| Aoede | Breezy and light |
| Lyra | Self-hosted engine (beta) |
