# Reading articles

> Quick takes, the clean reader view, text size, opening the original, sharing, tags and the reaction bar.

## Quick takes

Swipe an article to the left in your feed to see its **Summary**, a short AI-written quick take, without opening it. Tap **Read full article** to open it, or **Dismiss**.

The same quick take sits at the top of the article when you open it. The article's own headline is never changed.

## The reader

Hushread shows the full article text without ads or page clutter, in your chosen fonts and theme. From the header:

- **A−** / **A+** changes the text size (saved on this device).
- **Open ↗** opens the original page in your browser.

At the top and bottom you'll find:

- **Listen** (the headphones button), which reads the article aloud; see [Listen to articles](/docs/listen).
- The **bookmark**, which saves the article to [Read later](/docs/read-later).
- **Tags**, to add the article to a tag or create a **New tag**; see [Folders and tags](/docs/folders-and-tags).
- **Share**, which sends a link or a **Share card** image. The send button shares a public page for the article, ready for WhatsApp or any other app.
- **Comments**; see [Comments, quizzes and stats](/docs/comments-quizzes-and-stats).

If the article's page has no readable text, Hushread shows the summary instead.

## Reaction bar

In **Card** layout you can show Like, Love and Angry reactions, comments, bookmark and share under every card. Turn on **Settings › Reading › Show reaction bar**.
