Fourth Wing Casts Esther McGregor and Emilio Sakraya as Leads

Prime Video's Fourth Wing brings Rebecca Yarros' bestselling fantasy fiction to television. The Hollywood Reporter described the project as an adaptation of her novels, while The Wrap TV identified Fourth Wing as a BookTok romantasy favorite.

Meredith Averill is the showrunner and executive producer, according to Deadline Hollywood. The latest news fills the two central roles: Violet Sorrengail and Xaden Riorson.

On October 15, Deadline Hollywood reported that Esther McGregor and Emilio Sakraya would lead the upcoming series as Violet and Xaden.

The Wrap TV also reported the pairing that day, identifying McGregor as Violet and pointing to her previous appearance in We Were Liars. Variety Movies separately reported Sakraya's casting as Xaden Riorson.

On October 16, Variety Movies followed with a profile of Sakraya. Its report said Prime Video had revealed the casting on Thursday, and described Xaden as the brooding male lead opposite Violet, the protagonist and narrator.

Audience reaction was already becoming part of the story. Mashable Tech covered fans' responses on October 16, though the supplied summary does not establish how widely any particular view was shared.

The central pairing is now established across the casting reports: McGregor as Violet Sorrengail and Sakraya as Xaden Riorson. The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline Hollywood both identify them as the leads of the Prime Video adaptation.

That is the concrete advance here. The supplied coverage does not give a filming schedule, a premiere date or further casting details.

The next open questions are when production will begin, who will join the supporting cast and when viewers will see the series. None is answered in the supplied casting coverage from Deadline Hollywood or The Hollywood Reporter.
