Google News RSS URL formats
| Feed of | URL |
|---|---|
| A search | https://news.google.com/rss/search?q=WORDS&hl=en-US&gl=US&ceid=US:en |
| Top stories | https://news.google.com/rss?hl=en-US&gl=US&ceid=US:en |
| A topic section | https://news.google.com/rss/headlines/section/topic/TECHNOLOGY?hl=en-US&gl=US&ceid=US:en |
Inside q= the usual Google News operators work: when:7d for recent coverage, site: for one publisher, a minus sign to exclude a word, quotes for an exact phrase. Topic feeds redirect once to a longer topic URL, which every feed reader follows.
FAQ
Does Google News have RSS feeds?
Yes. Any Google News search has a feed at https://news.google.com/rss/search?q= followed by your words, and top stories and topic sections have feeds too. Each feed needs matching hl, gl and ceid values for the country and language edition, which this tool fills in.
How do I limit a Google News feed to the last day or week?
Add when: to the search, for example "chip exports when:7d" for the past seven days or when:1d for the past day. The tool adds it when you pick a time window.
Can I get Google News results from one website only?
Yes. Add site: and the domain to the search, for example "climate site:bbc.co.uk". Fill in the Only from this site box and the tool adds it.
Why do Google News feed links go to news.google.com?
Each item links to a Google redirect, not the publisher's page, so some readers open Google first and can't fetch the full article. Hushread resolves those links to the original article when it adds a Google News feed.
How do I exclude words from a Google News feed?
Put a minus sign before the word, for example "climate -opinion". Words in the Exclude box get one each.
