Nintendo Marks First Pikmin Day With Switch 2 Edition and Shorts

Nintendo has given Pikmin a date of its own. November 1 is now Pikmin Day, an annual celebration announced on October 31, according to Polygon.com.

The announcement arrived through a surprise Nintendo Direct. Screen Rant reported that Nintendo gave viewers only 10 minutes of warning before the presentation aired.

On October 31, the short Pikmin Day Direct brought together the new celebration and updates about the franchise. Shigeru Miyamoto shared information about Pikmin 4 for Switch 2, The Verge reported.

The first Pikmin Day followed on November 1. Multiplayer.it reported that Nintendo had designated the date for the franchise and marked the occasion with its dedicated presentation.

Also on November 1, Eurogamer reported that Pikmin 4 Nintendo Switch 2 Edition would launch on November 12. The release includes a new mode called Dandori Academy.

Nintendo added a closer look at the game to the celebrations. Nintendo Life reported on November 1 that a special Treehouse broadcast had been announced for Pikmin 4 Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and Dandori Academy.

The announcements also reached beyond games. On November 2, Anime News Network reported that Pikmin was getting a short film series.

The next firm release date is November 12 for Pikmin 4 Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, according to Eurogamer. Dandori Academy is part of that package, rather than a separately described release.
