Open the menu (☰) and tap + next to Feeds. You can also open Discover and tap the search tile.

In the box (Keyword, website, or RSS link), type any of these:

  • A keyword, like astronomy. Matching sources from Hushread’s catalog appear under Sources. Tap one to preview it.
  • A website, like theverge.com, or an RSS link. Tap Add from link.

If you type a single word that could also be a website, Hushread asks which you meant: Add the website X.com to follow that site, or Track “X” on the internet to follow the topic from any outlet.

  • The site has a feed: you’ll see Preview with the feed’s latest posts. Tap Add feed. If you already follow it, it says Already following.
  • The site has no feed: Hushread offers Follow this page (or Add this website). It checks the page regularly and turns new articles into feed items for you. It may also show Suggested feeds for that domain.
  • Nothing found: you’ll see We couldn’t find a feed or articles there. You can still track the name as a topic instead.

Links to subreddits, YouTube channels and Facebook pages work too; see Reddit, YouTube and Facebook.

Limits and alerts

  • The free plan allows 5 sources. Adding a sixth shows the upgrade screen; see Plans and billing.
  • New sources don’t send notifications by default. After you add your first source, Hushread asks Want alerts for this source?. See Notifications.
