Disclosure: Hushread is my app. I’ve tried to be fair, and I say where the others are the better choice.
The best RSS feeds for AI news are the labs’ own feeds for announcements (OpenAI at openai.com/news/rss.xml, Google DeepMind at deepmind.google/blog/rss.xml, Hugging Face at huggingface.co/blog/feed.xml), one newsroom’s AI section for reporting (The Verge, Ars Technica or TechCrunch), and one or two independent writers such as Simon Willison. Add an arXiv category only if you read papers: the cs.AI feed held 1,353 entries on the morning I fetched it. Anthropic, Meta AI and Mistral publish no feed at all, and there is a way around that further down.
AI news RSS feeds that work, with their newest post
Feeds checked on 16 October 2026. A feed that still loads but hasn’t posted since spring is dead for news, so the date column matters more than the URL.

Old addresses still work: openai.com/blog/rss.xml lands on the news feed, and the Google AI address above now forwards to blog.google/innovation-and-ai/technology/ai/rss/. Readers follow redirects, so either form is fine.
The labs’ own feeds: announcements, straight from the source
These are where model launches, pricing changes and research posts appear first.
OpenAI has one feed for its whole news page: research, company news and customer stories together. One quirk: the feed carries OpenAI’s whole archive, 1,296 items when I fetched it, so the first time you add it your reader may fill with years of old posts. Mark all as read once and it behaves from then on.
Google DeepMind publishes a feed even though its blog page doesn’t advertise one. Google’s product-side AI posts (new features, a monthly roundup of its AI announcements) go to The Keyword’s AI feed instead, so follow both if you care about products as well as research.
Hugging Face is the feed for open models and tooling: release write-ups, fine-tuning guides and community posts. It is busy, with several posts dated October 15 alone.
NVIDIA and AWS Machine Learning are company blogs with a sales angle, but they are where hardware and cloud-platform AI announcements land. Keep them if that’s your work; skip them if you want news.
Anthropic, Meta AI and Mistral have no RSS feed
This is the gap most lists paper over. Anthropic’s news page offers no feed link, and the obvious addresses (anthropic.com/news/rss.xml, anthropic.com/rss.xml) don’t exist. Meta AI’s blog has no feed link either, and Mistral has no feed at mistral.ai/news/rss.xml.
You have two workarounds.
- Follow news about them. Google News turns any search into a feed:
https://news.google.com/rss/search?q=Anthropic&hl=en-US&gl=US&ceid=US:engives a feed of coverage, led that week by Reuters and CNBC stories from October 14 and 15. Build one for any name with the Google News RSS feed generator. The catch is that it gives you other outlets writing about Anthropic, not Anthropic’s own posts. - Follow the page itself. Some readers can watch a page with no feed and turn new links into items. In Hushread, paste
anthropic.com/newsinto Add source and choose Follow this page; it checks the page regularly and new posts arrive in your feed like any other source (Add a source). That covers Anthropic’s own announcements, which no feed URL does. If you want a general method for any site, see how to find the RSS feed of any website.
Newsroom AI sections: reporting, not press releases
A lab feed tells you what a company said. A newsroom tells you whether it matters and what others think, which is why I’d pair at least one.
- The Verge and TechCrunch cover launches and funding the day they happen. Wired’s AI tag feed does the same job from a magazine newsroom.
- Ars Technica’s AI section goes deeper into how things work, which is why it’s my pick of the newsroom feeds.
- MIT Technology Review posts less often (newest item October 13).
- The Decoder and MarkTechPost are AI-only sites. The Decoder covers model releases like a news wire; MarkTechPost is mostly write-ups of model and tool releases.
Independent writers worth a slot
These are the feeds I’d keep if I could have only five.
- Simon Willison writes about using language models in practice, often several times a day. His about page lists separate feeds:
/atom/everything/for all of it,/atom/entries/for full blog entries only, and a feed for every tag, in the formsimonwillison.net/tags/datasette.atom. If the everything feed is too much, use entries. - Import AI is Jack Clark’s newsletter, delivered as a Substack feed.
- Interconnects is Nathan Lambert on open models and how they are trained.
- Ahead of AI from Sebastian Raschka posts less often (newest issue September 29), and the issues are long and technical.
- Last Week in AI is a roundup, useful if you’d rather read one summary than twenty launch posts.
arXiv feeds: only if you read papers
arXiv publishes an RSS and an Atom feed for every subject area. The arXiv help page gives the format: add the category to https://rss.arxiv.org/rss/, so rss.arxiv.org/rss/cs.AI for artificial intelligence, cs.CL for computation and language, cs.LG for machine learning. Join categories with a plus sign, such as rss.arxiv.org/rss/cs.AI+cs.CL. The page says feeds “are updated daily at midnight Eastern Standard Time” and caps a combined feed at 2,000 results.

Volume is the problem. The cs.AI feed I fetched held 1,353 entries, of which 360 were new submissions; the rest were papers cross-listed from other categories and updated versions of older ones. cs.CL had 301 entries and cs.LG 486. Nobody reads that in a feed reader. Use arXiv’s feeds with a keyword filter, or pick a narrow category, or let a curator like Last Week in AI do the filtering.
Hacker News, filtered to AI stories that took off
hnrss builds custom Hacker News feeds. The q= parameter searches post titles, and points= sets a minimum score, so https://hnrss.org/newest?q=AI&points=100 gives you AI stories with more than 100 points. Separate keywords with OR to widen it, as in q=LLM+OR+GPT.
hnrss’s Search Feeds documentation, 16 October 2026. Source: hnrss.github.io
hnrss is an independent service built on Algolia’s search API, not part of Hacker News, so it could stop working without notice. Its documentation was last updated in December 2022, but the feed was posting stories from October 15.
Feeds that went quiet
The Gradient still answers at thegradient.pub/rss/, but its newest post was dated February 18, 2026. Berkeley’s BAIR blog feed was last updated on July 29. I’d leave both off a news list; if you like BAIR’s long research posts, keep it and expect long gaps.
Keeping twenty AI feeds readable
Follow fifteen of these and the same launch arrives a dozen times: the lab’s post, then The Verge, TechCrunch, The Decoder and Hacker News on the same day. Most readers show each copy separately. Hushread links articles about the same event from different outlets, so under the lab’s post you see which other outlets covered the launch, and a big story opens as one timeline of everyone’s coverage (Stories and timelines). The free plan holds 5 sources, enough for two labs, one newsroom and two writers; following all twenty needs Pro at $1.25 a month billed yearly. Other readers handle duplicates differently; RSS readers that remove duplicates compares them.
A keyword rule helps too, and it is the practical way to tame arXiv or the company blogs. In Hushread, a rule can mute “webinar” on a folder holding the NVIDIA and AWS blogs, or notify you when “Claude” or “Gemini” appears in any source (Rules and filters). For other apps, RSS readers with notifications covers which ones can do that.
FAQ
What is the best RSS feed for AI news?
For announcements, OpenAI’s news feed and Google DeepMind’s blog feed; for reporting, The Verge’s or Ars Technica’s AI section; for one person’s informed take, Simon Willison’s Atom feed. All of them posted on October 15, 2026.
Is there an OpenAI blog RSS feed?
Yes: https://openai.com/news/rss.xml. The old openai.com/blog/rss.xml redirects to it, and it includes OpenAI’s full archive, so expect a long backlog the first time you add it.
Does Anthropic have an RSS feed?
No. Anthropic’s news page has no feed and the usual feed addresses return 404. Use a Google News search feed for coverage about Anthropic, or a reader that can follow a page without a feed.
How do I get an arXiv RSS feed for AI papers?
Use https://rss.arxiv.org/rss/cs.AI, or swap in cs.CL, cs.LG or any other category, and join several with +. Feeds update daily at midnight US Eastern time, and cs.AI alone listed 360 new papers in one day’s feed, plus close to a thousand cross-lists and updates.
Is there an AI news RSS feed for Hacker News?
Yes, through hnrss: https://hnrss.org/newest?q=AI&points=100 lists Hacker News posts with “AI” in the title and more than 100 points. It is a community service, not an official Hacker News feed.
If you already read a curated newsletter every week, two or three lab feeds on top of it may be all you need, and any free reader will do. If you want the labs, the newsrooms and Anthropic’s page in one place without reading the same launch ten times, try Hushread with your 5 most important sources first.
